This past weekend, I attended the Simply Stylist Fashion & Beauty Conference in New York. As I’m still fairly new to the blogging community, this kind of event was a first for me. I had the absolute BEST time!!!
My aunt, Carrie Drazin over at It’s Droolworthy, organized a blogger brunch in South Jersey over the weekend. We all met up at Toast in Asbury Park for some delicious eats and then spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the town.
This week, an organization for which I care deeply, the FIDF, hosted a fall cocktail party at Marquee to raise funds for the Israeli troops. One of my best friends, Morgan, and I attended the FIDF gala last winter, and it was an incredible event. We knew we had to go out this Thursday night to show our support for this very important cause. We also knew it was sure to be a great time.
It’s been nine long years for those most unfortunate souls, the fans of the New York Mets. To be honest, I’m not that into baseball and have not personally felt the anguish that comes with years of losing, but I can say that I experienced the sheer elation of the crowd on Monday at Citi Field. I don’t think I have ever seen the stadium so packed. There wasn’t one empty seat, and the place was thundering with chants and cheers. I’ve been dragged to many games, but I have never felt the energy that was present on Monday night.
The Mets won the game 13-7 against the Dodgers, and I have to say, winning is fun. Although the Mets wound up losing the next night, it was a really special game. I had a great time with my sister, my dad, my grandma, and my aunt. I have never seen any of them, especially my dad, so happy. My sister and I got a kick out of watching his reactions to everything going on on the field. His wild gestures and dramatic expressions were almost more entertaining than the game!
The Butterfly Exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History is one New York attraction I have wanted to visit for quite some time. This weekend, my best friend, Chloe, and I met uptown to spend an afternoon at the museum. We learned some interesting things and had a few chance encounters with some gorgeous little friends while we were there.
